Rubber Extrusions

Continuous rubber and silicone profiles, cut to length and made to your cross-section for seals, trims and tubing.

Extrusion pushes uncured rubber through a shaped die to form a long, continuous profile, which is then cured and cut to length. It is the efficient way to make seals for doors, windows, cabinets and enclosures, as well as tubing, cord and sponge strip.

Bombay Rubber & Carbon Works extrudes standard and custom profiles in silicone, EPDM, nitrile, neoprene and Viton. Whether you have a drawing, a sample or just a photo of the gap you need to seal, our team will help you arrive at the right shape and material.

Profile Description
U-Channel Seals Channel profiles that grip an edge, protecting panels, glass and sheet-metal edges.
D-Seals Hollow D sections for doors, hatches and enclosures, in many hardnesses and colours.
P-Seals P-shaped sections with a hollow bulb and a flat tail for easy fitting.
H-Seals H sections that join or glaze two panels, with a groove on each side.
E-Seals Hollow-bulb sections used on refrigerators and cabinets that open and close often.
Cord, Tubing & Sponge Solid cord, tubing and sponge extrusions for heat, sealing and cushioning duties.
  • Consistent sections: controlled dies and curing keep dimensions steady along the whole length.
  • Any length: supplied by the metre, coiled or cut to size, with joined or spliced corners where needed.
  • Material choice: different hardnesses, colours and grades, including sponge and hollow sections.
  • Hard-to-make shapes: intricate and multi-cavity profiles developed with design guidance.
  • Match or improve: send a worn sample or cross-section drawing and we will reproduce it.
Material Best suited for
Silicone High and low temperature, hygienic and food-contact seals
EPDM Outdoor, weather, ozone and steam exposure
Nitrile (NBR) Oils, fuels and greases
Neoprene (CR) General purpose and moderate weathering
Viton (FKM) Aggressive chemicals and high heat

The right choice depends on temperature, media, compression and exposure. Tell us about the application and we will recommend a grade.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Which profiles do you extrude?
U, D, P, H and E sections, cord, tubing and sponge, plus custom shapes to your drawing.
    What is an E-seal?
It is a profile with hollow bulbs, often used on refrigerators and cabinets because it flexes well with frequent opening and closing.
When should I choose extrusion over moulding?
Extrusions are long profiles cut to length, ideal for straight runs. Moulded seals suit specific three-dimensional shapes.
Can you copy an existing profile?
Usually, yes. Send a sample or cross-section drawing and we will match or improve it.
    Is silicone cord food safe?
Food-contact grades are available. Please tell us the standard you need, and we will confirm the right compound.
